I'm going to continue with this project, as there's still some non-encyclopedic userboxes in the Template namespace (eg. Template:User LimeWire). I've learned how to use AWB, but there's over 600 people using the LimeWire userbox. Are the bots still running to auto-update the transclusions on people's userpage? xenocidic (talk) 03:44, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind. I see DyceBot is still working on this. xenocidic (talk) 15:05, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Two rather nasty (can't tell - they were already deleted by the time I arrived) and current three neutrally worded anti-gay userboxes (with the "believe marriage to be between one man and one woman" slogan that seems to be popular with opponents of same-sex marriage) are up for deletion. Main arguments are that they are unencyclopedic and that they are discriminating/offensive. While that was probably true with the first two (can only rely on the admins call there), I don't see it as that offensive... That said, I'd like to stop this potential slip into another round of userbox deletions, maybe someone better with words could help explain the situation, and why boxes should not be deleted just because "they are POV and don't contribute encyclopedically" CharonX/talk 23:33, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
