November 2022[edit]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Randykitty (talk) 22:57, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Yes, I admit my fault that I didnt read the term & condition for username before creating wikipedia account. Kailashhc1 username absolutely indicates that the account represents a organisation thats true. So hereby i want to change my username to Shubh84 and also declare that I will not repeat any kind of activities that breach wikipedia guidelines or mislead the purpose of Wikipedia.

Decline reason:

Your choice of new username looks okay, but you have not told us your connection to the group of hospitals. You also have not said what edits you will make, if unblocked. PhilKnight (talk) 08:45, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm an employee who work at Kailash Group of Hospitals. If i get unblock then I will create a page for our Hospital in a informative a way not in a promotional way. I understand that Wikipedia is not a platform to promote servives so thats why i decided to completely remove the "Specialities offered by the Hospital" section from Kailash Group of Hospitals wikipedia page. And in the free time, i also want to contribute to other pages in way like: Adding  references, related images, check facts and references, cite sources, etc. So I request to please unblock my account I done mistakes in the past and i learned my lesson. Kailashhc1 (talk) 09:09, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You will not be unblocked to write about the group of hospitals. If that is your only goal, then this is the end of the line. If you want to edit other subject areas outside your conflict of interest then tell us what they are in your next unblock request. PhilKnight (talk) 20:05, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Please try to understand, creating company page is not my end goal. I was doing just doing what other had done.

Again, I admit I have done mistakes in the past and i learned my lesson and I'll never do such kind of mistake in future. OK lets do one thing, I will not create any page until I earn admin trust. Meanwhile, I will try to edit in the subjects like Medicine and health, Entertainment, Sports, Earth and environment, Society & Music. So I request to please unblock my account. You need to create another unblock request using the {{unblock}} template as you did before. PhilKnight (talk) 16:48, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please understand that companies typically are not the ones creating and maintaining articles(not "pages") about their companies- most are typically written by independent editors wholly unconnected with the topic. This is not a place for companies to tell the world about themselves(that's what social media is for). Wikipedia is not for merely providing information, that is considered promotional here, you don't have to be soliciting or selling something. Wikipedia articles summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic, showing how it meets Wikipedia's speial definition of notability.

You have said above you wouldn't create another article without trust; you will need to make a paid editing disclosure as you are employed by the hospital(you don't need specific payments for edits). Depending on the nature of your work at the hospital, editing about medicine and health may be challenging due to the conflict of interest; please review that policy. (editing about medical topics has its own, stricter rules) Would you specifically agree to not edit about your hospital? This would not be permanent, but you will need to spend much time making edits in other areas to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of relevant Wikipedia guideliness before being permitted to do so. 331dot (talk) 10:07, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

OK, After unblock, I will spend much time making edits in other areas to demonstrate my knowledge and understanding of relevant Wikipedia guidelines. Kailashhc1 (talk) 10:22, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Randykitty, I'm interested in any thoughts you have before making a decision here. 331dot (talk) 10:36, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi, thanks for pinging me. If they recognize that their edits were promotional and that WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS is not a valid reason to add more promotional crap, then I have no problem with them getting renamed and unblocked. --Randykitty (talk) 10:55, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Kailashhc1, how about that? Please understand that this is a volunteer project where people do what they can, when they can, and as such it is possible for inappropriate content to get by us- and that's not a reason to add more inappropriate content. 331dot (talk) 10:59, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    Hi 331dot,
I already told you that I'll not add any inappropriate content. I understood & also experienced the impact that would happen to my account if I do something wrong. So from now on, if I get unblock, I will spend time on making edits in other areas by following strictly Wikipedia guidelines. Thanks! Kailashhc1 (talk) 11:10, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • I will remove the block if you
  1. agree to make the paid editing disclosure
  2. specifically agree to refrain from editing about your hospital for the time being(you kinda allude to this above but don't specifically state it, I just want to be clear)
  3. agree to edit based on what independent reliable sources say about a topic, not what it says about itself 331dot (talk) 11:17, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    1. agree to make the paid editing disclosure - OK, I agree
    2. specifically agree to refrain from editing about your hospital for the time being(you kinda allude to this above but don't specifically state it, I just want to be clear) - I'll not edit hospital page until I earn admin trust
    3. agree to edit based on what independent reliable sources say about a topic, not what it says about itself - OK, I agree

    Hi @331dot & @Randykitty,
Do I have the permission to creating page for Kailash Hospital??
I am writing to request the creation of a Wikipedia page for Kailash Hospital. Kailash Hospital is a leading healthcare provider in India, offering high-quality medical services to patients from all walks of life.
Kailash Hospital has a rich history and has been serving the community for over three decades. It is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology and staffed by highly qualified medical professionals. The hospital is dedicated to providing the highest standard of medical care to all its patients and is committed to improving health and well-being through its many programs and services.
I believe that Kailash Hospital's contributions to the healthcare sector and its impact on the local community make it deserving of a Wikipedia page. I am confident that a Wikipedia page will help raise awareness of the hospital's work and help others learn more about the quality healthcare services it provides.
I would be happy to provide any additional information or support required to create a Wikipedia page for Kailash Hospital. Please let me know what the next steps are and what information you need from me. I look forward to hearing back from you.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
    Best regards, Shubh84 (talk) 05:26, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would first say that we don't have "pages", we have articles. Note that "raising awareness of the hospital's work" is a promotional purpose- Wikipedia has no interest in doing that. If you just want to tell the world about the good work of the hospital, you should do that on social media. Your description here of the hospital is also very promotional("high quality medical services"; "leading healthcare provider"; "highly qualified medical professionals", I don't know of any hospital that would say otherwise) and doesn't really convince me that you would be able to write a draft article as Wikipedia requires. I also see that you haven't yet made the formal paid editing disclosure.
I have examined your edits; most of them are very minor. Usually in cases like this we want to see a more extensive history than two months and thirty edits. My personal opinion is that you aren't yet ready to write a draft about your hospital and that doing so would breach your agreement above. 331dot (talk) 09:38, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah its seems too promotional after reading it. My purpose is to inform the world about this hospital (without any promotional intent), similar to other nearby hospitals such as Apollo, Fortis, Narayana, Pristyn, Max, and Metro, Ref:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_Hospitals
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fortis_Healthcare
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narayana_Health
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pristyn_Care
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Healthcare
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metro_Hospital
For this, I need your approval whether I'm ready to create an draft article or not, which I got the answer. Its OK, I will continue to contribute more to this community as much as possible and never breach the agreement. Shubh84 (talk) 10:42, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please read other stuff exists as to why what other articles do is not relevant. It could be that those other articles are also inappropriate and simply not addressed yet. As this is a volunteer project where people do what they can when they can, it is possible for inappropriate articles to get by us. This does not mean that more should be permitted.
You need to understand that "providing information" is promotional. You don't have to be soliciting or selling something, which is what many in your position think. Wikipedia is not for merely providing information, it is for summarizing independent reliable sources. We don't want to know what an organization says about itself, only what others completely unconnected with the organization choose on their own to say about it(and not based on materials from the organization).
If you want to link to another Wikipedia article, we don't need the whole url, simply place the article title in double brackets; [[Joe Biden]] appears as Joe Biden. 331dot (talk) 10:50, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Do I successfully made the formal paid editing disclosure? Shubh84 (talk) 06:55, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you may just copy and paste it to your user page(User:Shubh84). 331dot (talk) 07:02, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I just did what you said. Now Do I successfully made the formal paid editing disclosure? Kindly Confirm. Shubh84 (talk) 07:17, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. 331dot (talk) 07:21, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Shubh84! Your additions to Indian Ethos in Management have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. /wiae /tlk 12:40, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
