Professor Hazem M. Kalaji is Polish-Syrian internationally recognised plant physiologist. He is particularly noted for his work on plants' responses to abiotic and biotic stresses through the study of the photosynthesis process. Prof. Kalaji has been at the forefront of developing innovative solutions in the fields of agriculture, horticulture, and environmental protection. He effectively utilizes the synergistic interplay between plant communication, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) techniques. His pioneering research has highlighted the critical role of plants as biological sensors capable of autonomously monitoring and regulating their growth conditions, thereby creating a sophisticated biological feedback system.

Prof. Kalaji is an active member of numerous international scientific organizations, serves on the editorial boards of several journals, and is a frequently invited speaker at international scientific conferences.
