Mask is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language dark comedy thriller film written and directed by Vikarnan Ashok, in his directorial debut. The film is jointly produced by Vetrimaaran's Grass Root Film Company and SP Chokkalingam's Black Madras Films. It stars Kavin in the lead role, alongside Andrea Jeremiah, Ruhani Sharma, Charle, Bala Saravanan and Archana Chandhoke.

Before the announcement, the film was referred under the tentative title Kavin 07, as it is the actor's seventh film as the lead actor. The film was announced in May 2024, in addition to its official title. Principal photography commenced the same month. The film has music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, cinematography handled by R. D. Rajasekhar and editing by R. Ramar.

In April 2024, Andrea Jeremiah was reported to have been chosen to play the lead antagonist in Kavin's seventh film as the lead actor. The reports further claimed that Vikarnan Ashok, a previous assistant director of Vetrimaaran, would make his directorial debut with the project, while the latter would fund it under his home banner, Grass Root Film Company.[1] The company made a public announcement on 17 May, confirming the project, and the film's official title, Mask, was revealed the same day.[2] In addition to film's the title, the cast of Ruhani Sharma, Charle, Bala Saravanan, Archana Chandhoke and the crew of composer G. V. Prakash Kumar, cinematographer R. D. Rajasekhar, art director Jacki, editor R. Ramar and costume designers Poorthi-Vipin were also revealed that day.[3] SP Chokkalingam, whom are also funding the project under his maiden production house Black Madras Films, would make his debut as a producer with this film.[4]
Filming[edit]
An inaugural puja ceremony was held on 17 May 2024 at a film city in Chennai. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in the last week of that month.[5]

The music and background score are composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, in his first collaboration with Kavin and Askok.[6]
