Lieutenant General Sami Sadat Saminullah Khan (Pashto/Dari: سمیع سادات سمیع الله; born 17 March 1985) is a Pashtun General/Commander of the Afghan Armed Forces, who had joined the Afghan Armed Forces since 2007 and was trained by NATO.[1] It is reported that Sadat has received military training in Germany, USA and the United Kingdom.
Professional career[edit]
Gen. Sadat has been responsible for the Afghanistan National Army more effectively during the years 2017-2021 in various parts of the country. He also worked as Deputy Chief of Army Staff Afghanistan of the Afghan National Army for a short period before the Fall of Kabul in 2021.
In 2021, after the fall of Kabul, the president of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani along with other high profile Afghan officials fled Afghanistan. Sami Sadat also had to leave Afghanistan reluctantly. Sadat was annoyed and angry, and promised to return one day to take over Afghanistan again. Currently Sami Sadat and his family live in London, United Kingdom.
General Sadat briefly served as the commander of the Kabul garrison from 2013 to 2015. He held different command and Staff positions during his military service years.
Sadat currently leads the Afghan United Front.[2]

He was trained at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Britain’s officer training college, as well as the US Army Command and Staff College.[3]
