My first page

Dear MER-C,

just noticed that you deleted my sandbox draft-page on Peter Döhle Schiffahrts-KG.

Please note that this is a sizeable company and employer in my local region of Hamburg Germany. Because of the interest from various people I met throughout the last months, I wanted to include an article on them at Wikipedia, actually being my first contribution to this great www.source!

Thus, pls let me know why you deem my draft as promotional and kindly let me know what I can revise in order to have it published.

Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by BulbousBow56 (talkcontribs) 09:36, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You copied it from the company's web page. If you don't understand why that's both promotional and not allowed, you shouldn't be editing Wikipedia. MER-C 09:57, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Pls note that I didn't copy it from the company's website, but rather used a summary of various corporate information. So I'll give it another try, trying to be even more neutral... — Preceding unsigned comment added by BulbousBow56 (talkcontribs) 10:04, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Possible spam sleeper

I have read your comments at User talk:NewYorkCity2000, and I confess that I did have my own doubts, for reasons similar to those you gave. I was particularly struck by the fact that the number of innocent edits years ago was exactly 10. However, in cases where the evidence is just the general pattern of editing looking suspicious without anything more definite, I tend to give the benefit of the doubt. Well, I'll think about it for a while rather than acting immediately. Certainly if it is unblocked it will be an account to watch very carefully. JamesBWatson (talk) 20:57, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

AppHarvest

I just saw the red banner saying the page appharvest was deleted but it looks like you deleted a different version a couple of months ago. I have no connection to this company other than living in KY. I come from a coal family and want to see them succeed since Eastern KY people need this... Also I'm seeing a lot of national news coverage but when I clicked the wikipedia link in google it said no page existed. If you think something needs changed I will. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hightones (talkcontribs)

Hey, you were the closer on the "Screenplays by…" CfD. I just wanted to point out that RTD has never written a film script as he's primarily a television writer, so the category name is inaccurate. Which do you think would be the better category name, given the CfD discussion and/or consensus?

Category:Teleplays by Russell T Davies
Category:Television episodes with screenplays by Russell T Davies
Category:Television episodes written by Russell T Davies, with the RTD-created series already in Category:Television series created by Russell T Davies

Aalisha Panwar

Hi MER-C, quick background: I'm no good with regex. Here in 2017 you added some regex to prevent the creation of Alisha Panwar articles, yet in 2019, Aalisha Panwar was created. I'm not exactly sure how that happened. (I'm no good with regex, you see...) Also, should we now remove it from the blacklist, since the article exists? At the time there was a campaign to legitimise her when she was a debutante of Indian television. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:52, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The page was moved from User:Redcap78/sandbox to Draft:Aalisha Panwar by I dream of horses, a page mover; and subsequently to Aalisha Panwar by Missvain, an admin. Both admins and page movers are able to bypass the blacklist. MER-C 16:17, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. How am I not able to see any of these moves in the move log? I see them in the edit history. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:37, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Billy Deletions- I could take over again, if you want

Thanks a ton for picking up the slack during my unannounced absence. Now that I'm back, should I A) continue updating and listing pages at Billy deletions while you still post pages at CP, B) just take things over entirely? Either way, thank you so much for your help with the pages. 💵Money💵emoji💵💸 22:30, 8 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There's enough at CCI for both of us. I'll be working mainly on the first two pages - feel free to do whatever with images, the more recent stuff or other CCIs where presumptive removal is warranted. MER-C 17:50, 9 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Money emoji:: when you list things for presumptive deletion, please use {{subst:article-cv}}. It allows me to see at a glance whether any of the stuff has been rewritten, and therefore process items much faster. MER-C 19:09, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I didn't know that existed. I'll use it from now on. 💵Money💵emoji💵💸 19:21, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Portal:Nanotechnology

I am the maintainer of Portal:Nanotechnology, and I notice that the portal was just deleted after a discussion of which I was not notified and was not aware of. I'd like to ask that the deletion be reversed and the discussion reopened so that I may participate in it. I am happy to make any updates to the portal upon request. Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 16:06, 9 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have no discretion to overturn or reopen a deletion debate where quorum is met and the consensus to delete is unanimous. MER-C 17:01, 9 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I do believe this is a WP:NOQUORUM situation. The nomination was based on factually incorrect information—it stated that the portal had been abandoned since 2012 and has no maintainer, whereas I have made updates more recently than that. In addition, the complaints about outdated information could have been fixed with a simple request on the talk page. Given that only two !votes other than the nominator were recorded, along with that the fact that apparently no one was notified of the discussion, I do believe this is grounds to reopen the discussion. Otherwise, I will have to take this to WP:REFUND or WP:DRV. Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 18:38, 9 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree with your first sentence - three is a fairly normal turnout at MFD. REFUND does not consider pages deleted via a deletion discussion, so your best bet is to argue that you will continue to maintain the portal and have means of substantially increasing readership. Mainspace content is much more broadly read. MER-C 09:00, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see how three is a quorum, but I suppose I'll have to take this elsewhere. Thanks for the discussion. Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 13:27, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sunset International Bible Institute

Hello. Can you explain https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sunset_International_Bible_Institute&oldid=914408601? While the named individual did contribute to the article, I believe this diff is the sum of their contributions: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sunset_International_Bible_Institute&type=revision&diff=400675936&oldid=400671480. This represents two edits, back-to-back on 5-December-2010. I don't see any copyright problems in the diff. Thanks for any clarifications or guidance you are willing to provide. I apologize if I did not link to the diffs in the most appropriate way (likely). I don't do that often. WTucker (talk) 23:34, 11 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

CAEplex and WP:AFC process

Dear MER-C, I have written the article Draft:CAEplex about a piece of cloud-based software I have written. Two years ago, the page was deleted because it was not notably enough. Now, I have been able to collect enough references and citations that make it pass Wikipedia's notability criteria as there were a couple of reviewers that did not want to delete it anymore. One of them actually tidied the references up. Since you moved it to WP:AFC, I would like to know what this process involves. I am aware that I have a COI, and I have explicitly stated it in my profile. Nevertheless, this piece of software is featured in Onshape's App Store along with other similar apps such as Conself and Simscale, which have similar content. In fact I took them as models to write Draft:CAEplex.

My spirit was to provide Wikipedia users with all the options there are in the field of Computer-aided_engineering Cloud_computing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kuroshivo (talkcontribs) 22:04, 12 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Because you have a conflict of interest, the decision to include an article about your software in the encyclopedia is not yours to make. To go through the AFC process, add {{subst:submit}} to the top of the article and wait for a review. MER-C 15:41, 13 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you MER-C. I added the template. Kuroshivo Mon 16 Sep 2019 06:41:33 AM —Preceding undated comment added 09:42, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Restore the articles

Hi, can you restore all the articles that were speedy deleted after a banned or blocked user. Triila73 (talk) 12:02, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

All of the articles you deleted that were created by the following should be restored:

The articles are a part of the beauty pageant Wikiproject. Triila73 (talk) 12:08, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Why? You are already familiar with this sockpuppeteer (see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/RadyoUkay819/Archive), now banned per WP:3X, and there are legitimate concerns about the integrity of the content created. MER-C 12:38, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I thought restoring the content created of blocked/banned users are allowed. That's what Bbb23 did to the last investigation. I requested him to restore and he approved my request. And I think it's more easier to spot some more socks with the articles created by the sockpuppeteers. Triila73 (talk) 13:34, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It is allowed, but it is a matter for admin discretion. I am not compelled to restore - in fact I decline to do so on the grounds that these sockpuppets are suspected to be abusing Wikipedia for public relations purposes and engaged in undisclosed paid editing, and therefore the content that they wrote is untrustworthy. MER-C 15:20, 17 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Is it okay if you can restore it and I'll add reliable sources to it? It is really important for the Wikiproject Beauty pageants, I'm sure to take responsibility of the articles. Triila73 (talk) 10:43, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The problem with promotional and UPE articles is that they are promotional merely by existing - an inclusion decision gets made by the paid editor when it is inappropriate for them to do so. "Important for a Wikiproject" is not a persuasive argument for restoration. If you have reliable sources for an article, there is nothing stopping you from recreating it. MER-C 11:25, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Beauty pageant again

There are very suspicious edits at Miss World Philippines 2019 interleaved between an anon and a registered account about 1445–1645, 15 September. If the proxy check for Special: contributions/202.80.213.234 is positive, as I think it will be, then what should I do next? ☆ Bri (talk) 04:28, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not a proxy, but a compromised machine. The sourcing is absolutely garbage, so you might be able to justify removing the bulk of the content. MER-C 09:39, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Help needed at CopyPatrol

Hi, and thank you for your work on copyright issues. Lately I have run into a serious problem: I have been doing an extremely high proportion of the reviewing of the listings at CopyPatrol, having done 50 to 75 reviews daily for the last few weeks. It's not realistic to think that I can keep this up indefinitely, as it consumes many hours each day, and it's not good for me to spend so much time in front of the computer. And if for some reason I become unavailable the results will be dire. What I'm hoping to do is recruit a small group of experienced users who visit Copypatrol daily and clear 5 to 10 cases each, to help spread the burden around a little bit, as well as create a cadre of people who can take over if for some reason I am not able to edit any more. Since you've got some experience in copyright clean-up, I am inviting you to consider visiting the page on a regular basis – even daily, like I do! – and clearing a number of cases. It would be a really big help if you could! Thanks for your time, — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:01, 20 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try to do a little more than the 5-10 per day I do currently - backlogs are absolute bananas at the moment (including at WP:CP) and the spammers aren't giving any of us an easy time. MER-C 10:59, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I know right? I used to have time to help a bit at WP:CP, but not lately. Thanks very much for all your hard work there, and for all the other things you do here. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 11:16, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User:Funnygooster

Hey MER-C: Please, in the future, when blocking a sock of a indef-blocked user, put a note in the edit summary. When I saw this edit, I thought many different things. Someone had gotten ahold of your account, at worst...or...at best, you finally went all screwy and needed a good trouting. Then I clicked on the diff, saw the account was blocked. Some might not have done that, just took it on first apperances, and went with it. So, please utilize the edit summary. :) - NeutralhomerTalk • 17:30 on September 21, 2019 (UTC)

Hi can u please Check

Hello there, I suspect that User:Vkrmsingh04 and User:Vkrmsingh belongs to the same person and these accounts edited the page Vikram Singh (composer) and the username is the short form of the page name, can u please check if this is a case of WP:SOCK Thanks Worldnpeace (talk) 19:58, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

They're almost certainly the same person, probably due to incompetence rather than a deliberate action. However, those two accounts last edited five years ago so not much point in blocking. If the page gets deleted and reposted or COI content being reinserted then that would be the time to take action. MER-C 20:04, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

New Article

Dear MER-C,

as I like to contribute to the Wikipedia project, I like to add one by one information of internation shipping companies. Thus, I wanted to let you know that I added a new article to my sandbox where you originally deleted my first article draft. I duly understood that you deemed it not objective enough resp. asked about more independent sources (which I hope are added now adequately).

For any further advice or recommendations I will be very thankful as I'm still quite a rookie here and hope I'll be able to contribute to this great platform in the future.

Kind regards, BulbousBow56 (talk) 15:48, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You need to convince us that reliable and reputable media outlets have covered the company, in depth, based solely on its own merits and not in response to PR or routine occurrences. See WP:CORP for exactly what I mean. The bar is quite high because spammers mean we can't have nice things. MER-C 16:36, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Review

Hi MER-C,

I need a review help. While I working on some new articles related to Malayalam film industry, I have created a draft like this. But unfortunately, the page was created several times and deleted. I found this discussion and understood that only an administrator can create this page. At the same time I have noticed, Anwar Rasheed Entertainments, Ocean Pictures etc are still existing as single line articles. What I understood in searching is that, there will be limited secondary sources available as far as the companies like these kind are concerned. Anyway, if you feel, I have rewritten this in a better way and properly sourced in an encyclopedic manner, please help me to create it. Regards: DreamSparrow Chat 10:27, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Given the multiple recreation in the past, you will need to go to Wikipedia:Deletion review to be allowed to recreate this article on the basis that new sourcing has been found. The bar for corporate notability is quite high, and I don't think the sourcing you have provided clears it - as you said, it is difficult to find secondary sources that cover the company in depth. I wouldn't rely on the existence of other articles in the Bollywood topic - many of them are junk and the topic is rife with promotional and/or clueless editing. There is also an essay WP:OSE that is very frequently cited in response as well. Maybe you should nominate those for deletion instead. MER-C 10:51, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @MER-C:, you previously deleted an article on EvoShare. Could you review the new and improved Draft:EvoShare? Please note [1]. This is from a free "Watch your Wiki article" automatic monitor 2-click reverter. I think I signed up for this a month ago, just to see how it works. In this particular case it worked ok, and put my user name in as Smallbones, but the service does strike me as a potential problem. Just wondering if you've seen this before. Perhaps e-mail might be better to discuss details. Smallbones(smalltalk) 12:58, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No, but it is a fairly easy service to write under normal circumstances. Of course, WMF incompetence makes it trivial. I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner. Is that your IP that made the revision? MER-C 13:10, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Country location map templates

Hi MER-C,

Would you be willing to re-open and relist this discussion? Zerach accidentally forgot to tag the second category, Category:City location map templates, which is why I did not see the discussion until the category was moved. My concern is that the changes are inconsistent with Category:Country templates and Category:City templates, which are/should be the parents.

Thanks, and also pinging User:זָרַח and User:Marcocapelle, -- Black Falcon (talk) 17:27, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Noting I have seen this, and want to wait to see if the pinged users have anything to say. MER-C 17:37, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Black Falcon: I'm sorry for forgetting to tag the category. I don't have a strong feelings about the city category (although I favor the move because some of the maps are neighborhoods, not cities per se). The reason that I nominated the country one is that "by country" is a better description of what it is, since there are subcats for many countries with subnational maps. Category:Country templates has other subcats that are "by country". Zerach (talk) 18:45, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I was about to finish my work CAM International Market first wiki Page until it deleted and I was about to create my own words from the source

Dear MER-C

I have put a link source to details about the history of my work at CAM and locations details that apply from Facebook, store website, and google. Besides my work doesn't have many details source about their places except their website, some social media which promoting or not, and google. I tried the best I could. My boss would allow me to attempt to make the first wiki or any social outlet at CAM to draw many fans to learn history or locations about CAM however, it's was gone before I have a chance to complete it and I was unhappy. But Oh well I try it again later and I hope If It will approve it and somebody would edit about CAM to revised my sentence and added more details because I am not good at the sentence and the only thing I can approve it revised it.

I hope you can restore my article I was about to finish it. Thanks,

Deletion of Draft talk:Hayabusa Fightwear

Hi MER-C. I noticed yesterday Draft talk:Hayabusa Fightwear had been deleted by you. I sent an email to the permissions-en email address to clear up the copyright issue, explaining the flagged content was actually provided by me to the site that used it. Question regarding covert advertising

Hello MER-C. I am Taewangkorea and I was recently added as a new page reviewer I have noticed a page I reviewed was draftified for covert advertising. Since how to handle covert adverrtising (never heard of the word until now) was not discussed in the tutorial and the article did not appear to be blatently G11 advertising, I was wondering if there were any guidelines or advice to help identify covert advertising that I can use in the future when reviewing. Thanks, Taewangkorea (talk) 23:38, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Covert advertising = articles created or content added in exchange for undisclosed payments from the subject. I'm not going to go into detail as to why this one was suspicious, but I will say this. Always look at the contributions of the page author, remember that it takes 10 edits to be autoconfirmed and eligible to create articles, look closely at source quality and watch out for articles on certain topics (e.g. companies, businesspeople). MER-C 09:37, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

To whom it may concern:

We are the family of John Ben Shepperd. It has recently come to our attention that his wikipedia page was deleted for copyright violations, probably pursuant to the below link:

httpd://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Money_emoji/Billy_deletions

We are happy to rewrite the page, making it better than it ever was before. In our efforts, in would be very helpful if you could send us a copy of the page prior to deletion for the copyright violations to start the effort.

Thanks,

The page was deleted because all of it, throughout all of the history, was presumed to contain copyright violations. There is no clean version available, and obviously I'm not going to share copyrighted material with you. Furthermore, you should not be writing about close family members in line with conflict of interest policy. Wikipedia's readers expect independent coverage of its subject matter. Mr Shepperd is unquestionably notable, so there is nothing stopping an editor without a conflict of interest writing about this subject. MER-C 10:02, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Realised a trick I could use to get some more facial detail, which worked great... but does mean I need to notify voters. Sorry! Y'ever have this idea nagging at the back of your head for a day until you realise exactly what you need to do? Adam Cuerden (talk)Has about 7% of all FPs 04:08, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Specific models

Did we really need a relist of category:Specific models? The discussion is unanimously in favour of renaming, and I supported that proposal as nominator. SpinningSpark 19:02, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Read the last comment - "I have only just tagged Category:Conceptual models so this discussion should stay open for at least another week". MER-C 19:08, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, that makes sense. SpinningSpark 13:29, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

CfD closure leftover

Hello,

Thank you for closing Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2019 September 30#Category:White American Muslims! However, there seems to have been no action taken to merge Category:African-American Buddhists to Category:American Buddhists, despite the stated result. Do you know why this was singled out, and how to proceed in order to have it merged? Place Clichy (talk) 07:07, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sorted. MER-C 09:50, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Category:Recipients of aid from Lewis Tappan. Deleting hopeless promo drafts

Hello MER-C, I could use some advice about draft deletion please, if you got a bit of time. Consider Draft:SK Cleaning Services as example: obviously written by a COI editor, no chance of notability whatsoever. Technically the draft is not written in a promotional manner, although its mere existence is promotional in itself. Would you delete such hopeless attempts of advertising or just ignore the rubbish for 6 months as long as it stays in draftspace? And if it's to be deleted, under which CSD criterion? GermanJoe (talk) 11:41, 17 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think the mood is shifting towards more aggressive deletion of spam drafts - if you tag it as G11, there's a decent chance it will be deleted. I blocked the COI editor. MER-C 17:46, 17 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

About relisting Category:Methodist church buildings

Hello,

About your relisting of Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2019 October 9#Category:Methodist church buildings to Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2019 October 20#Category:Methodist church buildings, it seems to me that the discussion has pretty much died out, with 3 in favour of a merge to Category:Methodist church buildings (accounting one opinion expressed in speedy) and only one opposing, so I would say that consensus is pretty much there. Note that the contributor in opposition had previously expressed an opinion in favour of the same merge target (not that they can't change their mind of course). As the original nominator I do not wish to influence your decision in any way and I'll respect it, but I find the relisting could be worth reconsidering. Place Clichy (talk) 08:07, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I see it as 2/1 in favor of Option A, which means a relist (I'm not seeing the third opinion in favor of Option A). MER-C 14:24, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No problem then, we'll wait to see if more opinions are voiced out. However I pinged and invited the editor from the speedy discussion to clarify their thought on the new options, but from experience this editor rarely comes to CFD in such cases... Thanks anyway for all your contributions in CFD closures! Place Clichy (talk) 17:45, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, sorry, my perfectionism got to me, and I redid Alt 1 a bit, because that giant hat really seemed to need a bit more visual-counterbalance at the bottom of the picture. I'm sorry for doing this late in voting, I just wanted to make sure that the image promoted is the best I can do, and the new crop, I think, is way better. Zecurion article – advertisement?

Dear MER-C,

I've noticed that you'd marked my article Zecurion as an "adevertisement". I would like to note that Zecurion is a large and significant company, one of the very few Russian manufacturers of cybersecurity software, recognized worldwide + by large analytical companies (Gartner, IDC, Forrester). I studied this issue for a long time to understand whether such information would be significant.

The article does not contained directly copied text from sources. The article does not have complementary phrases and adjectives in the superlative degree. The article does not encourage subscribing to anything, buying company products, on the contrary, it talks about the company in the most neutral way, relying solely on facts.

Could you please tell me what exactly was in doubt in the article? I am ready to work to improve it. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by NovumGates (talkcontribs) 04:47, 24 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

(by talk reader) @NovumGates: It reads like advertising to me. Every sentence is positive; there's no criticism of the subject. There are half a dozen citations from the subject, itself. Chris Troutman (talk) 12:43, 24 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This article is an undisclosed paid advertisement on the balance of probabilities. The comment by the author above forms part of that evidence. MER-C 12:49, 24 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hope you don't mind, but I went through and sorted all the remaining unused FPCs. It's possible that I messed up somewhere, but I presume any mistakes will get spotted next time the program's run. Adam Cuerden (talk)Has about 7.1% of all FPs 22:01, 24 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It's been a year since I've run it, so definitely due for a rerun. Then there's all the zombie FPs that cling on to minor usages (e.g. File:Red Wattlebird Anthochaera carunculata.jpg) but are obsolete. I don't know how to find them except checking the page history at each nomination. The todo list looks a lot better, thanks for that! MER-C 15:07, 25 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I think the zombie ones are less problematic, honestly. Unless they're only in galleries. Adam Cuerden (talk)Has about 7.2% of all FPs 22:29, 25 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Here's a question: Do you think the nominating small sets of related works, as a "Should any of these be saved?" nom is a good or bad idea? Because it would let us clear the remaining list by the end of the year, as long as we pre-evaluated. For instance, we could review the Vehicles section, put them into articles, and batch-nom anything left. Adam Cuerden (talk)Has about 7.2% of all FPs 01:42, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

They should be triaged at WT:FPC before being sent to be delisted. How about keeping the bundles at say 3 per nomination and just have more nominations? MER-C 10:33, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

OhShape Deletion

Hello MER-C,

Yesterday my draft for OhShape was deleted. I was notified Drm310 deleted it but this user pointed me to you. He told me you both find the OhShape article like a promotional post. I am a videogame journalist and I want to start adding VR rhythm games into Wikipedia, as I have seen this is a quite big niche and there isn't much info about most of them. I described as objectively as I could the gameplay mechanics and the release date of the game. For the external links I added the official website and a couple of internet articles with previews of the game. I'll happily remove any link if it's considered spam or change the body of the text if needed.

Thanks for your help, Best, Eldan K --Eldan K (talk) 10:00, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have little to add over what Drm310 said except this - the page was promotional because you wrote it. Our readers expect us to provide independent coverage of our subject matter. MER-C 10:54, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Beam Suntory Wikipedia Page Updates

Hi,

I am a Beam Suntory employee. A couple of us have made changes to our Wikipedia page with correct and the most up to date information, only to see it removed.

Please refrain from changing information we make to our Wikipedia page.

We appreciate your willingness to help keep our page up to date.

Beamsuntory222 (talk) 02:01, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) Beamsuntory222, that's not how things work around here. Nobody owns a Wikipedia page, least of all the subject. I strongly advise you to have a look at the conflict of interest policy, and if you're being paid to edit, the paid editing policy as well. You're also probably about to get blocked for your username matching the company name (not allowed under the username policy). creffett (talk) 02:50, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I can't actually see what MER-C removed before (it's been revision-deleted), but it appears that you added content copied from elsewhere. That's a copyright violation, and is not permitted under any circumstances. Even if you own the content or have permission to re-use it, it must be released to the public under a suitable license (which basically means that the text or other content is irrevocably released for anyone to do just about anything with it). Please have a look at the pages WP:COPYRIGHT and particularly WP:COPYVIO. creffett (talk) 02:56, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This user is likely a sock of User:BeamSuntoryCorpComms, who was blocked 21 days ago by you for promotional username and spam.CodeLyokotalk 03:25, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
